Camp Helen State Park and Carillo Beach are nearby and offer a bit of peace and quiet with trails and secluded beaches. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. Roof replacements for buildings one and two will begin the first or second week of January 2024. Work will commence on building two and then building one. Stucco and concrete repairs will occur on all five buildings between mid-January and mid-February 2024. Throughout this project, grinding, scaffolding work, and lifts may be audible during working hours. Painting will also occur. Sometime in January to February 2024, Dune Doctors will begin working on a dune renourishing project to remove invasive foliage and replant. This will be behind the east and west buildings, with work transpiring throughout the year.
